We left Kingman headed for Oatman AZ. On the way we stopped at a ruins of a old gas station. It is located at the entrance to a canyon up the gold hill grade toward Oatman.
Next stop Oatman a mining town from way back. They have turned it into a tourist attraction. We had breakfast there lots of great pics.
In the restaurant over the years visitors have left one dollar bills on the wall. It has accumulated to about $90,000.00.
Miles and Miles of the Mojave Desert- so glad when it ended. Interesting at first then hot (106) and boring. We have pictures but they don't show much. The only part of the trip we would like to skip.
In the middle of the mojave desert is a little town called Dagget. We stopped for a milk shake. It was yummy very refreshing after suffering the heat. The name was Peggy Sue 50's diner. I kept thinking the townies must say, "dagget it's always so hot here"!!
Our final stop is in Victorville Ca. there we visited the route 66 museum, we were escorted into town by the Blue Night Motorcycle Club.
We have some great video of the road to Oatman. Very steep and curvy with big drops off the side with no guard rails. The wi-fi here is very slow and can not load them.
Tomorrow there will be photo's of the Pacific Ocean.
Greg and I were inspired by your travels and decided to head to Athens yesterday to visit mom. Dave Green and Kenny are also here. Congratulations on making your destination! We can't wait to see more of California! Have fun with Philip's aunt!
