Hello family and friends from the show-me state Rolla Missouri. The first day went great. Got the bike ready, prayed for safe passage and at 7:30 we were off. Indiana was nice but uneventful- however I kept looking for the windmill farms (they are ugly but fascinating to watch.) Philip informed me that they are in north Indiana not west.
On to Illinois. The best part of the ride though Ill. was Rend Lake. Beautiful. It was Reminiscent of Michigan.
Whipped through the rest of the state and headed for Missouri. Greta (our GPS) had other plans. She wanted us to stay on the interstate, Philip had other plans. We wanted to go though the small quaint towns the rest of the way, so it was a fight as we circled around one small town. Philip won of course so onward west to Missouri. The roads were perfect for motorcycles, plus the traffic was minimal. Nine hours later we arrived at our destination Rolla Missouri. I thought Philip was going to have to peel by big butt off the bike, instead we went to take pictures of the route 66 sign as our motel is on Route66. We ate, then settled in. Until tomorrow- more pictures more details. Thanks for sharing our trip, we miss you all.
