California or Bust Day 5

We begin the day riding through Bernul NM. You probably won't find this on a map, when we exhaled we were out. Much to our surprise two miles down the road, for those of you who know Don Imus we passed the gravel road leading to his ranch for cancer ridden children. Did I mention OK., TX., and NM. are the capitols of old rusty cars. Route 66 they keep them all, must not be a place to recycle.

Welcome to Madrid NM. The home of Maggie's diner centered in the movie Wild Hogs. Madrid consist of one street cute but a bit touristy.
We had lunch where they filmed the bar scene.
We had the best beef brisket ever. These are our new friends and riding buddies.
We have now entered Cibola National Forest we are going to the  crest of the Sandia mountains and show what Santa Fe looks like from 10680 ft.
Now we end our day at the continental divide.
Thanks again for joining us we love the feedback. Tomorrow Winslow AZ. "standing on the corner."

  1. The scenery in those pictures is awesome and again looks like another beautiful day. I enjoyed seeing pictures of you two and your new friends. Philip, you should have some of those scenery pictures made into prints to frame. They are really beautiful and will have their own special memories! Hard to believe in another 2 days you will be in California!! Happy trails and look forward to seeing Arizona pictures. Take care, love you. Kathy

  2. Great sights! How fun to share it with your new "gang"! It sure makes me want to take the same trip, but I don't think I could talk Greg into a bike (maybe a convertible?). ;-)
Have a great Friday .... Stay cool today!
    Love,
    Beth and Greg
