California or Bust Day 2

Philip told me "there would be days like this". How about a total drenching for the first half of the day. You see us lining up getting ready for the big day. Our first stop in Missouri was to eat lunch. Please no more all you can eat buffets. I'm feeling a little sick after the buffet, not really I'm just tying my shoe.
Our last stop in Missouri was at a Sinclair station. You'll see route 66 on the road and lots of nostalgia.

Rainbow Curve Bridge
Onward to Kansas. We were in Kansas for a total of 14 miles. The only site in Kansas was a bridge that was built in 1923 called The  Rainbow Curve. More of Kansas on the way home. So here are some of the towns on route 66 in Oklahoma. The picture below is a town dying a slow death.

The town of Miami is vibrant, it even has "big band sound" coming to this groovy theater. Off to bed hope you enjoy.

  1. Oh my, all those bikes are a site to see.....how fun!! I loved the little gas station in Missouri. The little bench out front kinda reminds you of Mayberry. All of these little towns are great. Without sounding too corny, this IS our country and you are seeing it as it is. Hopefully today will be a little drier. Have fun, be safe and keep the pics coming. Love ya, Kathy

  2. Great pictures .... keep them coming! It is our entertainment every night to catch up on your trip! It must be fun to see our beautiful (well most of the time) country from the backroads! :-)
    Stay dry and have fun!
