Welcome to the Corn Husker State, (Nebraska)
The day started off a little sketchy. Woke up and it was raining, by 9:00 it stopped and we were on the road. Going from one flat state to another. We encountered high winds from the get-go and moved on to cold temperatures as the day progressed. Due to the high winds we noticed that the homesteads are surrounded by trees. When you see trees it's next to someones' house. Another sight, the miles and miles of coal cars, some were in route and other trains setting there waiting for their turn. We measure one train and it was a mile and a half long with about 135 fully loaded coal cars.We are now settled in Alliance Nebraska in a local hotel, all the chain hotels were booked. Go figure. Heading for the Black Hills tomorrow, should have much better pictures.
