The pavement used to construct the Blue Ridge Parkway is very abrasive and hard on tires. Anyone who rides a motorcycle knows how quickly rear tires wear out as is and the rear was wearing much faster than I thought. We decided not to finish the entire parkway and headed west through North Carolina, Virginia, Tenn. and ended up in Barbourville Kentucky. Becky had not seen Cumberland Falls and since it is a state park and not federal one we knew it would be open so we decided to stop by there on the way home.
We are now back home again in Indiana, We were gone for four nights and five days. Traveled over 1450 miles and only had rain the last morning on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Heading back out west next summer, until next time ....
