The Memorial

This was one of the most emotional places we have every been. You could hear a pin drop as the large number of people walked though rows of articfacts recovered from the crash site. Tears running down the faces of people as they listen to the phone calls of the passengers calling home telling their loved ones how much they loved them. Because their flight was delay 25 minutes due to traffic at the airport they we behind the other planes so they knew what had happened to the World trade centers. They knew they were going to die.

They placed a 17 ton boulder at the impact point. The plane hit the ground traveling 536 MPH.

Ohiopyle State Park

Our next stop was Ohiopyle state Park. George Washington tried to negotiate the rapids here but bailed out.

Flight93 Memorial Ride

We had a few nice days in Oct. and I was off for Fall Break so we decided to take a trip to the Flight 93 memorial in Shanksville PA. We took the back roads through Kentucky, Southeastern Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania a very scenic and enjoyable ride. We stopped by a couple of Historic sights on the way, Fort Necessity, and a State park in Pa. If you can zoom in on the information placards it will tell the story of this history changing site. This fort was built by George Washington when he was a member of the British Army. He lost this battle against the French and Indians who could have killed him but let him go. American history would be different.
