Home again
We spent the last few days in Athens Ohio as this was Homecoming weekend. Becky's family meets there every year as it seems it's the only time they can get together. As suggested in our initial post we mentioned that we went past the birth place birth of U.S. Grant. On our way home we stopped by and took a couple of pictures. We also stopped in Madison In. and had lunch at the Downtowner. Great soup and Reuben sandwich.

Niagara Falls day Two
We decided to purchase the Discovery tour package. This included a movie, Maiden of the Mist boat ride to the falls, and Cave in the wind. I hope the pictures do it justice so here goes:
It is hard to describe what the power of the falls feels like. We are standing at the base of the falls and the feeling is unbelievable. It flows 670,000 gallons per second.

North to Niagara Falls
We decided to cross another national treasure off of our bucket list. Since we both have a special interest in water falls we decided to go to Niagara Falls. We will break the trip up into different sections. The first section will have us at Beckys mother house in Athens. We found yet another way there by traveling rural roads both in Indiana and Ohio. We even went by US Grant's birthplace in south central Ohio. Did not take any pictures but may if we decide to go that way home. Second leg of the trip was to travel rural roads in Ohio. It is amazing how many good motorcycle roads there are in Southeast Ohio. We did not make great time but that was not the point, we really enjoyed the roads and the weather. We are now in Niagara Falls and spent the day there. Here are a few pictures from today.
Look who we ran into while at the state park. This is our friends from New Albany who just happened to be there Donnie and Cindy Kleehamer.
More images tomorrow.

Trip to Rabbit Hash Kentucky
Since it was a very nice day for a ride and picnic we decided to visit a small town in northern Kentucky. On our way we stopped in Madison Indiana to have lunch while watching the boat traffic on the Ohio River. After lunch we rode to Rabbit Hash Kentucky. Rabbit Hash is famous for the fact that it's mayor was once a dog. We took some pictures and as you can see we were not the only ones there this Sunday afternoon.

Mammoth Cave Day 2
The tour of the cave today was awesome. So much better than yesterday in my humble opinion. It is called the Historical Tour. It lasted over 2 hours and we covered about two miles underground. If you have never been to Mammoth Cave be sure and take this tour. The one yesterday called Frozen Niagara was ok but did not measure up the Historical Tour. Since the cave is over 400 miles long you can tell that we only touched a very small portion. I tried to take some pictures but because you can not use a flash the quality is not very good. Have to hold very still so they are a bit blurry.

Mammoth Cave Ride
We are making one last ride before school starts. We decided to ride to one of the seven natural wonders of the world, Mammoth Cave National Park in central Kentucky. It is only a two hour ride from our home in Indiana. We rode the back roads of Kentucky and even crossed the Green River on a ferry. When we arrived at the visitor center we could not find a place to park, it was so crowded. So we double parked the bike and went inside where we signed up for a tour later that day and one for tomorrow then left for our motel. Here are some pictures from today.
